Jill Schreier

I have practiced as a registered dietitian since 1994 in a variety of medical settings including hospitals, clinics, home care, hospice and most recently private practice. My expertise includes individual counseling as well as presenting community education classes, staff trainings and professional seminars. This experience has allowed me to help hundreds of people of all ages with a variety of nutrition and wellness concerns. Since 2006, I have educated clients primarily in their home. Here, I develop customized plans to help manage or prevent health conditions such as cardiac disease, cancer, unintended weight loss, and obesity. I also thoroughly enjoy consulting with families to improve their health, energy and performance through better nutrition and lifestyle choices.

In addition to individual consultations, developing staff education for health care organizations and providing worksite wellness seminars is another passion of mine. Speaking to groups who are interested in improving their lives, or the lives of their patients, through healthier eating and physical activity is energizing to me. I provide seminars on a variety of topics. Please refer to the services section of this website for more information.

I believe in personalizing a realistic education approach that “meets you where you are”. Change is a process and a commitment. Realizing that even small changes over time can add up to noticable health benefits can be motivating. Through education and support, I strive to empower clients to make those healthy choices for a better life.

I am a member of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), Minnesota Dietetic Association (MDA) and the Nutrition Entrepreneurs practice group of ADA. I hold an ADA certification in Adult Weight Management. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Illinois - Champaign/Urbana in 1993 and completed my dietetic internship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In 1997, I received my Master’s degree from Eastern Illinois University in exercise physiology/cardiac rehabilitation to diversify my wellness background.

I currently live in the Twin Cities Minnesota area with my husband and our two boys. I love the experience of sharing great food and being active with my family.
